About

As a dispute resolution professional for over 20 years, I see conflict and disagreement as an inevitable part of human relationships. Our growth as a species in large part is attributed to our ability to differ and hold divergent views. That said, when disagreement is mixed with misunderstanding, assumptions, blame, hurt and poor communication, we destroy relationships, create negative emotions and cause harm.

Resolving conflict is in my blood. My grandfather was a judge of the Supreme Court of India, my mother, a lawyer – now a leading mediator in India. I knew I wanted to be a lawyer and ‘fight’ for justice since I was a teenager. I started my career as a human rights lawyer. While I am still committed to justice, pursuing resolution through a process that promotes understanding and removes the judgement and fight of an adversarial process is today more meaningful to me.

When not mediating with professional clients, my three teenage children and wonderful husband provide me with plenty of opportunity to improve my mediation skills! I enjoy travelling, exploring the great outdoors, singing and practising yoga.

“Mediation, to me is a holistic, respectful, practical and appropriate way to solve problems”
